» About Us: Residentclubber.co.uk
Residentclubber was initially
just an idea for somewhere to
host pictures from nights out in
Birmingham, and in particular
Godskitchen, back in 2001 - way
before social networking sites,
like MySpace and Facebook, were
around. The first version of the
Residentclubber website was
originally hosted on the free
webspace at MSN Groups /
Communities and then Yahoo
Geocities until the site started
to outgrow it's humble
beginnings and needed a much
larger home.
After a couple of years enjoying
the bright lights of the
Birmingham nightlife it wasn't
until September 2003 until the
Residentclubber cameras were out
and about locally in Leamington
Spa. Residentclubber.co.uk has
definitely grown in size and
stature since 2001, and still
continues to bring you photos
from weekend's festivities.
Over time, the website has
expanded and now includes a
multimedia section with videos
of some of the events we've
attended, as well as some of the
flyers and posters designed, an
events section from the small
nights that we've hosted
that have attracted the best up
and coming DJ's, as well as Andy
Barbieri's own DJ section.
In the many years the website
has been around, We've visited
quite a few venues and events
from the Midlands, with
Birmingham and Leamington being
the main areas for fun and
frolics. Most memorable nights
include; Godskitchen,
Gatecrasher at the NEC, Hed
Kandi, Polysexual, Sundissential,
Fuel, Global Gathering, Bounce
plus a whole lot of smaller
local nights in bars (including our own), which have been just
as good (sometimes even better)
than some of the club nights
we've attended.

"The message
and spirit of a website is
created in no small part by the
editor. Without an editor you
get just a mish-mash with no
overall style or direction.
There are photo galleries with
the photos uploaded exactly as
they come from the camera, warts
and all (so to speak), visitors
to Residentclubber.co.uk
shouldn't have to sort through
the many near-duplicates, blurry
photos, failed experiments, and
other dodgy photos.
With Residentclubber.co.uk, the
part which takes the most time
and care is the editing
of the photo galleries. Many decisions are made, based on the
criteria that we've developed
over the years since the site
began, accepting some pictures
whilst rejecting others.
And equally
important, is that the
photos need to reflect the
philosophy for the site. Simply
put, The week ends, life begins! It's what we believe in."
Residentclubber.co.uk
does NOT endorse, and is NOT
biased towards, any one
particular venue or event -
although the site is generally supportive
towards local events. We just go where the good times
are at!

"We organise and DJ at our own events, mostly based in Leamington Spa, as we got fed up with hearing the same commercial and urban music in seemingly every bar every weekend. Andy's DJ sound is upfront house music with elements of soul, funk, disco, latin, tech and jackin' beats. Relying on his tune selection to get the people dancing, and having DJ'd at most of the local Leamington Spa bars, as well as in the main room of two of the local clubs; Evolve and Smack, in that time, he has certainly done that! So, you could say that we're well placed to know the local bar/clubbing scene as well and more than capable at DJing to different kinds crowds at different venues."
You can also listen to Andy's mixes on the playlists on the following internet radio stations:
